Living in Florida in the summer is a great thing. There is always plenty to do. Living in Melbourne, Florida offers its own unique set of options. We are right on the beach; we are close to the Cape & we are just an hour away from the biggest and best theme parks in the world.

Still, the best fun can be had attending events specifically tailored for local residents only. In this article we want to share a handful of events that are happening in Brevard County. These events should make summer that much more fun!

Cocoa Beach Air Show

Watching jets fly fast and perform acrobatic stunts is always entertaining for the family. Add in some delicious food and beverage and you have yourself an entire afternoon to enjoy.

This weekend (July 12-13) the air show will be featuring the F-22 Raptor. Some say this is still the most capable aircraft in the world. There will also be a demonstration by an F-18 Growler. There will be a parachute team and an acrobatic showcase. More details here


Christmas in July

What started as a goof years and years ago by young people looking for a reason to party and dress up and since turned into an annual event for many locations across the country. Both Port Canaveral and Melbourne have a Christmas in July event this year.

Port Canaveral (July 15th)

This event will be celebrating the Port Canaveral lighthouse. There will be a raffle to raise money, and the grand prize is $5,000. 2nd place receives $2,000. This event will be from 5-7pm.

Downtown Melbourne (July 19th)

Join the community for this event where markets will be holding special sales. Come dressed in your favorite Christmas themed attire. There will be food, crafts and artisans. Starts at 10am


2nd Annual Reggae and Food Festival (July 26th)

Palm Bay has grown leaps and bounds in recent years. Join the community for fun, food and live music. The event will be held at Fred Poppe Regional Park in Palm Bay, Florida. Festivities start at noon.
